To the person before me, a computer monitor is not meant to be viewed from 10 feet away no matter how big it is. You're not watching TV, you're using a computer. A distance of 3 feet sounds just about right for 45".

I have a mac pro w/snow leopard and I view it on a 45" hd tv in 1080i. The text in the finder, desktop and Adobe CS4 menus is so small that I have to sit about 3 ft in front of the screen in order to see the text. When you control click on the desktop you get a pop up menu with an option to change the size of text to only as large as "16" which is no where large enough to view sitting 10 ft away which is a proper distance away. Is there a way of making text larger in these menus besides turning the zoom on in system preferences (universal access),which causes execution command problems?? Anyone out there - Thank You.

Thanks! I am a longtime Mac user and I didn't know that last bit about getting multiple parts of a long text—really cool.

I had this link stored in Twitter and had not clicked on it (stored under favorites). Finally had time to click on it and like what I see. I've subscribed so I can keep up on some other helpful tips that you have for Mac.
